HTC U24 Pro: A Mid-Range Smartphone That's Worth a Second Look
HTC has recently launched its latest mid-range Android smartphone, a move that has garnered surprise given the company's recent lack of attention in the smartphone market.
Earlier this month, HTC teased a new Android phone, which was met with surprise that the company was still producing smartphones. However, this has now been followed by the HTC U24 Pro, a new mid-range device.
The phone's display is a 6.8-inch FHD+ OLED panel, and it also includes a notification LED up front. The battery is a 4,600 mAh pack that supports wired charging up to 60W and wireless charging up to 15W. The core specs include NFC, Bluetooth, IP67 water resistance, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is a feature often missing from modern smartphones.
The U24 Pro also features a trio of rear cameras, including a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP telephoto camera. The front camera is a 50MP sensor inset into the display, rather than being housed in the top bezel.
In Taiwan, the U24 Pro is priced at $18,990, which is approximately $585 USD. The launch date for Taiwan is June 30, and it will be available in "Twilight White" and "Space Blue" colors. It is unclear when the device will expand to other markets.
