YouTube’s 20 Most-Shared Ads in February [VIDEO]
Accounting for more than half of the top 20, Super Bowl ad success shows that investing in America’s most watched sporting event can pay dividends in the long run.
We've discussed Kim Dotcom's grandiose lifestyle in previous posts. Maybe his recent release on bailhas caused a sharing spike for his eponymous theme song?
This M&Ms Super Bowl spot features a clever way to discuss nudity in commercials. Trying to imagine offensive, anthropomorphic chocolates makes it even funnier.
Another Super Bowl to play on the popularity of 2011's Kid Vader ad, this spot shows even a dog can work hard to correct a body image problem.
While it's a little tough to discern at points, these pooches effectively bark out the Star Wars theme song. Trying to figure out each pooch's Star Wars character is fun, too. They each have small identifying accessories that should immediately tip you off.
Makes sense that an ad about Valentine's Day would be the most shared during the month of February, right?
Honda went big with its Super Bowl ad time, paying homage to the classic '80s film that starred Matthew Broderick. It paid off, too. The ad got a ton of hype before the Super Bowl and is still generating buzz.
Yet another Super Bowl ad, this time featuring nothing but black and white close-up shots of David Beckham's nearly nude body.
Directed by Tim and Eric from the Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, this ad is the first we can think of that breaks the fourth wall of advertising by promoting one product inside an ad for another. It's a really clever, bold way of nodding to both products.
The new Audi's headlights are a striking design change for the car company, which used the current vampire obsession to show just how bright and clear the lights really are.
Coke is one of the official sponsors of the Tunisian National Football Team. The company made this video to encourage fans to amp up their "grintaa," which translates to "craziness."
The team recently made it into the Africa Cup of Nations tournament, so the ad was created to build support for the team. The rally cry features musical artist Si Lemhef and members of the national team.
Another Super Bowl ad plays the Willy Nelson version of the famous Coldplay song, "The Scientist" to a bunch of animated pigs.
This ad re-thinks energy in the UK. It's been shared a lot, but the faces on the towers actually make us feel a little bad for their demise.
Budweiser made the dreams of some amateur hockey players come true by treating one of their club matches as a big event.
This ad was lampooned on Saturday Night Live because of Clint Eastwood's gruff voice and the set's dramatic lighting.
Chevy generated a lot of controversy with this ad, insinuating that the owners of Ford trucks would be killed off if the apocalypse did in fact come to pass. What's that old saying? All press is good press? We think the company achieved its goal.
A clever way of including two hugely famous stars that also happen to be avid car collectors.
Kia went big with its ad, which features supermodel Adrian Lima, UFC fighter Chuck Liddell and Motley Crue. The production value is top-notch and the story has a happy ending for all involved -- except for the hunky guy on the horse, I suppose.
Corning's expanded vision for the future of glass technologies. This video continues the story of how highly engineered glass, with companion technologies, will help shape our world.
Kids will be kids, which apparently means having no regard for their bodies. The ad is tough to turn away from, though, we'll admit that. However, the YouTube video details reveal that "the distance of the lake was 150 feet. Several people had been flung 120 feet during the filming of the video. And actually...three people passed out on impact from hitting the water...so I wouldn't suggest trying it at home."
We don't know what's worse: being flung only 30 feet short of broken bones or hitting water so hard that it makes you pass out. But it sure looks fun!
Still a great enough ad to crack the top 20. And this aired during last year's Super Bowl.
