iOS 6 beta links surface ahead of WWDC 2012

With the Worldwide Developers Conference just a few hours away, the world is eagerly waiting to see what Apple is set to showcase at the event. When Apple announced the event, they teased that they would be showing the future of iOS. Besides that, very little was known. However, if a report by CNET via WeiPhone is anything to go by, then one thing is for certain, iOS 6 will be unveiled and the latter's website has already posted download links of the beta version of the build.
iOS 6 announcement confirmed
iOS 6 to not support all recent devices

A few days ago, images had surfaced regarding the preparations of the Worldwide Developers Conference 2012 event and from the images, we saw that Apple will unveil their next big operating software, iOS 6 as a banner had the redesigned logo of the same. With the announcement of the next major update, one would expect all the newer iOS devices to receive the OS update, but if the report is to be believed then it appears that the original iPad and the 3rd Generation iPod Touch will not be blessed with iOS 6.

As per the report by CNET, the author notes, “When Apple unveils its iOS 6 beta, which is expected to happen tomorrow at the World Wide Developers Conference in San Francisco, the two devices will not be among those supported by the newest version of Apple's mobile operating system, according to a WeiPhone forum post that purports to have the full list of developer releases for both iOS 6 and OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion. Those making the cut appear to be the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and iPhone 3GS, as well as the fourth-generation iPod and both versions of Apple TV.”

As for what to expect from the next major operating system update can be anyone’s guess, but from the rumours that have surfaced thus far, one can expect iOS 6 to feature an all new Maps app without the Google backend. This is by far the biggest leak that has surfaced pertaining to iOS 6. Other rumours suggest that Apple will also add Siri to the newest iPad, a feature that is currently present on only the iPhone 4S so far. The other possible announcements that could feature with the next build are that it will have Facebook integration and a different colour scheme. (Via Tech2)
