WWDC 2012 begins today: Espikes09
Apple’s big event scheduled for June, every year is the Worldwide Developers Conference, begins today at San Francisco, at Indian Standard Time 10.30 pm. Like last year, there were a string of speculations and rumours before the event. WWDC is the event where Apple usually shows off its new software, along with Macbooks, Macbook Pros and so on. Last year’s event saw Apple unleash its iOS 5, Lion OS X 10.7 and iCloud. This year’s keynote is also expected to be software centric rather than hardware. A striking difference in this year’s WWDC would be the absence of Apple’s ex-CEO and creative genius, Steve Jobs.
Begins today IST 10.30pm
The hottest products expected to be launched at the event this year, include the newest flavour of the iOS version dubbed iOS 6 and also the OS X Mountain Lion. While Apple is all geared up for the event, a banner put up at Moscone West confirms the fact that Apple will indeed be unveiling iOS 6 at the WWDC 2012 event. With this next major update, one can expect all the newer iOS devices to receive the OS update. However, rumours have surfaced that the original iPad and the 3rd Generation iPod Touch will not be blessed with iOS 6.
Apple had earlier launched the free WWDC 2012 app for its registered users who can check out the schedule of the conference and also the events and sessions. The five day conference begins today -June 11, and will go on until June 15. WWDC will feature technical sessions, which are presented by Apple engineers. It will educate developers about the future of iOS and OS X, allowing them to build incredible new apps. The event will also feature the popular Apple Design Awards, a showcase of the most outstanding apps from the past year.
