Apple to kick off WWDC 2012 on June 11, tickets sold out within 2 hours

As is the case ever year, the World Wide Developers Conference is one of the most hotly anticipated events as Apple takes to the stage to unveil what they have to offer next. Up until last year, the brand unveiled a range of new hardware which included the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and the iPhone 4. Last year, Apple did not showcase any hardware but announced the Lion operating system for the Mac and iOS 5 for their iOS range of devices. The brand has recently announced the dates for their annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) which will take place from the 11th to the 15th of June 2012 at San Francisco's Moscone West. Mountain Lion and iOS the main topics of discussion Apple states that at this year’s five day conference, developers will learn about the future of iOS and OS X, allowing them to build incredible new apps. WWDC will also feature more than 100 technical sessions presented by Apple engineers as well as the popular Apple Design Awards, a showcase of the most outstanding apps from the past year. Speaking at the announcement, Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said, “We have a great WWDC planned this year and can’t wait to share the latest news about iOS and OS X Mountain Lion with developers. The iOS platform has created an entirely new industry with fantastic opportunities for developers across the country and around the world.” Shortly after the announcement, two hours to be precise, on their WWDC page, Apple has announced that the tickets for the event had already been sold out. They stated that they will be posting videos of all their sessions shortly after the conference, so everyone can take advantage of great WWDC content for free.  The press release issued by Apple goes on to state, “Developers will be able to explore the latest innovations, features and capabilities of iOS and OS X Mountain Lion and learn how to greatly enhance the functionality, performance, quality and design of their apps. Developers can even bring their code to the labs and work with Apple engineers, applying development techniques and best-practices to enhance their apps.”  It seems that there will not be any hardware announcement at this year’s event after all and that would indicate that the new iPhone will be unveiled at a later date. However, we do not know if Tim Cook may pull a Steve Jobs with the ‘one more thing’ line.
